Mendoza, December 6, 2013
HAVING REVISED File No. S93:0004202/2013 of the Registry of the NATIONAL WINE INSTITUTE, Act No. 25163, its Regulatory Executive Order No. 57 dated January 14 2004, Resolutions No. C.23 dated December 22 1999, C.32 dated November 14 2002 and C.18 dated April 27 2012, and
CONSIDERING:
That, on the basis of the documents referred to in the foregoing section, the firms BODEGAS CHANDON S.A., LA AGRICOLA S.A. and BODEGAS ESMERALDA S.A. request the recognition, registration, protection and right of use of the PARAJE ALTAMIRA Geographical Indication (G.I.).
That, by virtue of Act No.25163 and its Regulatory Executive Order No.57 dated January 14
2004, the General Regulations for the Naming and Presentation of Wines and Wine Spirits in Argentina were established, being the NATIONAL WINE INSTITUTE the application body thereof.
That, pursuant to Chapter 10, Section 50 of the above mentioned Act, this INSTITUTE passed Resolution No. C.23 dated December 22 1999, which, as Appendix 4, is part of the pertinent regulatory executive order and approves the Basic Register of Geographical Areas and Preliminary Production Areas, which, by reason of their qualities for grapegrowing, might obtain a Controlled Denomination of Origin (D.O.C.) or a Geographical Indication (G.I.), and Resolution No. C.18 dated April 27 2012, which approves the extension of the said Basic Register.
That ALTAMIRA appears listed in the said extension of the Basic Register as a renowned winemaking area with special vinegrowing characteristics.
That, as shown by the documents submitted in the file referred to in the first paragraph hereof and by the studies carried out by this INSTITUTE's competent divisions, the production area of the Geographical Indication which is the subject matter of the request is perfectly delimited from the scientific-technical point of view and is made up of terroirs with distinctive conditions which are suitable for the production of quality wines.

322, respectively, against the recognition, protection, registration and right of use of the PARAJE ALTAMIRA G.I. on the grounds that the delimitation area of the same is larger than that submitted by the requesting firms.
That, by virtue of the foregoing, the Vine Studies Department of the Subdirectorate of Research for Control and Supervision, which reports to the Directorate of Control and Supervision (Gerencia de Fiscalización) intervened and, as recorded on folio 335, expressed that, according
