I, MARY HARNEY, Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, in exercise of the powers conferred on me by section 1(2) of the Industrial Designs Act 2001 ( No. 39 of 2001 ), hereby order as follows:

1.        This Order may be cited as the Industrial Designs Act 2001 (Commencement) Order 2002.

2.        The first day of July 2002, is appointed as the day on which the Industrial Designs Act 2001 ( No. 39 of 2001 ) (other than section 89(b)) comes into operation.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

 

 

(This note is not part of the Instrument and does not purport to be a legal interpretation).

 

 

This Order appoints the first day of July 2002 as the date on which all of the provisions of the Industrial Designs Act 2001 (Number 39 of 2001) come into operation with the exception of section 89(b) of the Act. That provision is made redundant by the repeal of section 79(2) of the Copyright and Related Rights Act 2000 in section 89(g) of the Industrial Designs Act 2001 .
