Pursuant to the Designs Act 1953, His Excellency the Governor-General, acting by and with the advice and consent of the Executive Council, hereby makes the following regulations.

REGULATIONS

1. Title and commencement-
(1) These regulations may be cited as the Designs Regulations 1954, Amendment No. 2, and shall be read together with and deemed part of the Designs Regulations 1954* (hereinafter referred to as the principal regulations).
(2) These regulations shall come into force on the day after the date of their notification in the Gazette.
2. Metric conversions-
(1) Regulation 10 of the principal regulations is hereby amended-
(a) By omitting the expression "a size approximately 13 in. by 8 in.", and substituting the expression "approximately A4 international size":
(b) By omitting the expression "2 in.", and substituting the expression "5 cm".
(2) Regulation 30 of the principal regulations is hereby amended by omitting the expression "7 in. by 5 in.", and substituting the expression "17 cm by 12 cm".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

This note is not part of the regulations, but is intended to indicate their general effect.

The effect of these regulations is to convert measurements in the Designs Regulations 1954 to their metric equivalents. They also require A4 international size paper to be used instead of foolscap in documents to be filed under the Designs Act 1953.

Issued under the authority of the Regulations Act 1936.

Date of notification in Gazette: 26 March 1975.
