The Queens Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty in pursuance of the powers conferred by section 31 of the Copyright Act 19561 and all other powers enabling Her in that behalf, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:-

1.-
(1) This Order may be cited as the Copyright (Hong Kong) (Amendment) Order 1990 and shall be construed as one with the Copyright (Hong Kong) Orders 1972 and 19792 (hereinafter referred to as "the principal Order").
(2) The principal Order and this Order may be cited together as the Copyright (Hong Kong) Orders 1972 to 1990.
(3) This Order shall come into force on 12th April 1990.
2. Schedule 1 to the principal Order shall be varied as follows:-
(a) in Part I, by the deletion of the number "32"; and
(b) in paragraph 3 of Part II (which paragraph specifies modifications in the extension of certain sections to Hong Kong), by the insertion in the table thereto in the appropriate place (having regard to numerical order) of the following entry:-

In sub-section (1), for the words "Her Majesty may by Order in Council", there shall be substituted "The Governor may by Order".

In sub-section (1)(a) and (c), for the words "the United Kingdom", there shall be substituted "Hong Kong".

In sub-section (1)(d), for the words "laws of any part of the United Kingdom", there shall be substituted "law of Hong Kong".

In sub-section (1)(e), for the words "the United Kingdom by the Corporation or the Authority", there shall be substituted "Hong Kong".

In sub-section (2), the words "in Council" shall be deleted.

In sub-section (3), for the words "Her Majesty shall not make an Order in Council", there shall be substituted "The Governor shall not make an Order", and for the words "Her Majesty is satisfied", there shall be substituted "the Governor is satisfied".

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order provides for the extension to Hong Kong of section 32 of the Copyright Act 1956 (which allows that Act to be applied in relation to countries to which it does not otherwise extend).
