Year of Version 2001 Dates Revised: December 31, 2001 Amended: September 26, 1980 Entry into force: February 22, 1979 Adopted: December 20, 1978 Type of Text Constitution/Basic Law Subject Matter Other Notes This is the revised edition of the Constitution of Saint Lucia (Cap. 1.01), which was prepared on December 31, 2001, by the Law Revision Commissioner under the authority of the Revised Edition of the Laws Act. This revised version of the Constitution incorporates amendments made by Act No. 17 of 1980, which entered in force September 26, 1980. The Constitution does not contain provisions that refer to intellectual property rights. However, Section 6(1)&(2) under Chapter I 'Protection of the Fundamental Rights and Freedoms' recognizes the protection of property rights to the people of Saint Lucia.
