Year of Version 2000 Dates Entry into force: August 25, 1972 Adopted: April 3, 1972 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Enforcement of IP and Related Laws Notes This consolidated version of the Law on Administrative Procedure incorporates all the amendments up to October 19, 2000 (see Title IV, Articles 30 to 32 for the last amendments made by Law No. 25.344 of October 19, 2000).

The Law on Administrative Procedure provides for administrative rules of procedure to be used in relation with the National Public Administration, both central and local, including autonomous bodies, except for military, defense and security agencies. The National Institute of Industrial Property, an autonomous administrative body, implements the administrative procedures concerning intellectual property rights. For example, Title V of the Law on Patents and Utility Models streamlines administrative procedures relating to patent applications and proceedings, which are undertaken by the National Administration of Patents.

Article 33 of the Law stipulates that it shall take effect 120 days after its publication in the Official Gazette. The Law was published in the Official Gazette on April 27, 1972 (B.O. 27/04/72), and shall enter into force 120 days from this date.
