Year of Version 2019 Dates Entry into force: October 10, 2009 Adopted: September 18, 2009 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Patents (Inventions), Trade Names, Undisclosed Information (Trade Secrets), IP Regulatory Body Notes This consolidated version of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 193-IV of September 18, 2009, on People's Health and Healthcare System takes into account amendments up to 'Law No. 240-VI of April 1, 2019, on Amendments to Certain Laws of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Issues Related to the Activities of Organizations Performing Child Protection Rights', which entered into force on April 14, 2019 (upon expiry of ten days after its first publication in the Official Gazette 'Egemen Kazakhstan' on April 3, 2019).

Paragraph 1 under Article 1 of the said amending Law No. 240-VI of April 1, 2019 added subitem 5-1) to item 6 of Article 182 under Chapter 31, Section 9, Special Part of this consolidated version, which reads:
'5-1) immediately report to law enforcement authorities about the facts of actions (inaction ), performed by minors or in relation to them, containing signs of a criminal or administrative offense in health care organizations, as well as facts that became known to them in connection with their professional activities outside of health care organizations;'

The consolidated Code provides for protection of undisclosed information in accordance with Article 39 of the TRIPS Agreement (see Special Part, Section 4, Chapter 14, Article 71, paragraphs 19, 20 & 21).
