Year of Version 2018 Dates Signature: July 21, 1993 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Other Notes This consolidated version of Federal Law No. 5485-1 incorporates all the amendments up to “Federal Law No. 193-FZ of July 26, 2017, on Amendments to Certain Laws of the Russian Federation Following the Adoption of the Federal Law on the Security of the Critical Information Infrastructure of the Russian Federation”, which entered into force on January 1, 2018.

For the amendments introduced by the said Federal Law No. 193-FZ, see paragraph 4 of Article 5 under Section II of this consolidated version, where a paragraph was added, as follows: '...on measures for ensuring the security of the critical information infrastructure of the Russian Federation and the protection thereof against computer attacks'.

Section VI, Article 24, the third paragraph of the consolidated version of Federal Law No. 5485-1 provides that state officials and private individuals may be temporarily restricted in their right, inter alia, to disclosure and use of discoveries and inventions containing information relating to state secrets.
