Year of Version 2008 Dates Entry into force: January 1, 2005 Adopted: December 19, 2003 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Patents (Inventions), Industrial Designs, Trademarks, Layout Designs of Integrated Circuits, Other Notes This consolidated version of the Federal Act on Electronic Signatures incorporates amendments introduced by the Federal Law of March 20, 2008, on the Formal Revision of Federal Legislation, which entered into force on August 1, 2008.
Part II, number 55 of the said Federal Law of March 20, 2008 provides for the repeal of Article 22 under Section 9 of this consolidated version.

The Annex of this consolidated Federal Act, issued pursuant to its Article 21 under Section 9 provides the amendments to the following laws:
- Civil Code;
- Code of Obligations;
- Federal Act of October 9, 1992, on the Protection of Topographies of Semiconductor Products;
- Act of August 28, 1992, on the Protection of Trademarks
- Federal Act of October 5, 2001, on the Protection Designs;
- Federal Act of June 25, 1954, on Patents for Inventions.
These amendments are not reproduced in this consolidated version and are available in its original version for consultation.
