Notes This Regulation was approved by Resolution No. CD-IEPI 06-184 to implement section (f) of Article 352 and Article 373 of the Codification of the Intellectual Property Law.

The notification by Ecuador to the WTO under article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'The Regulation provides for coercive action by the Ecuadorian Intellectual Property Institute (IEPI) to recover the various fees and fines owing to it by individuals, as established in accordance with the relevant regulations in force.'
