Notes:	The Socialist Constitution of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea was adopted on December 27, 1972 at the First Session of the Fifth Supreme People's Assembly, amended and supplemented on April 9, 1992 at the Third Session of the Ninth Supreme People's Assembly , amended and supplemented on September 5, 1998 at the First Session of the Tenth Supreme People's Assembly, of the Democratic People's Republic Korea and amended and supplemented on April 9, 2009 at the First session of the Twelfth Supreme People's Assembly. According to Article 74 "Citizens are free to engage in scientific, literary and artistic pursuits. The State shall grant benefits to inventors and innovators. Copyright, inventions and patents shall be protected by law".
