Notes:The purpose of the Act, as stated in the long title, is to provide for the preservation, conservation, restoration, documentation, study and presentation of sites and objects of historical, anthropological, archaeological and palaeontological interest. The Act establishes the National Museum to be the main public repository of all artifacts of integral importance to the prehistory, history and cultural development of the Bahamian people and The Bahamas. (see Section 19(e)).
