In particular, Article 12 states: (1) Genetic resources of national wealth owned by the State of Cameroon. No person may use for scientific, commercial or cultural without obtaining permission.
(2) The economic or financial arising from their use gives rise to the payment of royalties to the State whose rate and manner of collection are set in proportion to their value, by order of the Minister of Finance on a proposal of Ministers competent.
