Year of Version 2004 Dates Adopted: March 16, 2004 Type of Text Implementing Rules/Regulations Subject Matter Patents (Inventions), Utility Models, IP Regulatory Body Notes The Cooperation Agreement between the State Intellectual Property Office (SIPO) and the Macao SAR Economic Services in the field of Intellectual Property is attached to the present Notice.
Article 14 of the Agreement states that it is valid for 5 years and automatically renewable for the same period.

In accordance with Articles 4 & 5 of the Agreement, the applicants who have submitted an invention patent application to the SIPO or the right holders who have an invention patent granted by the SIPO may submit a request to extend the application or the patent right to the Macao SAR.

Article 13 of the Agreement states it shall enter into force at the date of its signature. According to its Article 16, it was signed on January 24, 2003; and therefore it came into force on the same date.
