Notes:The notification by Brazil to the WTO under Article 63.2 of TRIPS states:
'The Decree-Law contains provisions related to the application of the Civil Code.'

Among others, Article 12 of the Law of Introduction to the Brazilian Civil Code ('LICC') determines that the Brazilian Courts have jurisdiction over defendants domiciled in Brazil and on disputes resulting from obligations to be performed in Brazil.
