Notes:
This Decree protects monuments and works of art (“demonstrations of the spirit made through the visual arts”) including historical pieces related to national history or national heroes and remains of human activity from the pre-Columbian era of artistic or scientific importance. Such works are not to be exported from Bolivia even if they are private property or gifted to a religious organization. Under the Decree, works are subject to expropriation by the State, rights of first refusal, consent requirements for sale, etc.
