Year of Version 2014 Dates Adopted: March 22, 1979 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Copyright and Related Rights (Neighboring Rights), Other Notes This consolidated version of the Public Lending Right Act 1979 ('the 1979 Act') incorporates all the amendments up to to the Digital Economy Act 2010, which entered into force on different dates.
Section 43 of the Digital Economy Act 2010 introduces amendments to section 5(2) of the 1979 Act (relating to public lending right), which entered into force on June 30, 2014, in accordance to section 2 of the Digital Economy Act 2010 (Appointed Day No.4) Order 2014 (relating to provisions coming int force on June 30, 2014).

Section 31 of the Digital Economy Act 2017 introduces amendments to section 5(2) of the 1979 Act (relating to lending of e-books by public libraries), which enters into force on June 30, 2018, in relation to England and Wales and Scotland only, in accordance with the Digital Economy Act 2017 (Commencement No. 6) Regulations 2018.
The said amendments to section 5(2) have not yet been incorporated in this consolidated version (see 'Changes and effects yet to be applied to' at the end of the consolidated version for detailed information).
