Year of Version 1973 Dates Adopted: September 12, 1973 Type of Text Main IP Laws Subject Matter Industrial Designs, Copyright and Related Rights (Neighboring Rights), Enforcement of IP and Related Laws Notes The Decree provided for the registration and protection of textile designs. The Industrial Designs Act of 2003 repealed the Decree, and is presently the law regulating the registration and protection of textile designs in Ghana. The Act defines industrial designs to include textile designs. A textile design that was registered under the Decree continues to receive protection for the remainder of the protection duration under the Industrial Designs Act, 2003. The registered owner of the textile design must pay renewal fees in order to enjoy protection under the new law.
