Year of Version 2017 Dates Entry into force: January 1, 1998 Adopted: October 1, 1997 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Enforcement of IP and Related Laws, Other Notes This consolidated version of the Criminal Code incorporates all the amendments up to 'Law No. 167 of August 2, 2017, on Amendments to Certain Laws Concerning the Circulation of Medicines and Medical Products', which was published in the Official Gazette on August 22, 2017, and entered into force 10 days after the date of its official publication.

For the amendments introduced by the said Law No. 167, see Article 255 under Chapter 25, Section IX of the Special Part of this consolidated version of the Criminal Code, relating to the illegal production and sale of medicines and medicinal products.

This consolidated Criminal Code provides criminal liability for infringement of patents, copyrights, and trademarks, and for infringement of commercial secrets (Special Part, Section VII, Chapter 19, Article 150; Section VIII, Chapter 22, Articles 191, 193, and 194).
