Year of Version 2014 Dates Adopted: December 5, 1995 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Copyright and Related Rights (Neighboring Rights), Other Notes This consolidated version of the Classification (Publication, Films and Computer Games) (Enforcement) Act 1995 of the State of Victoria – application is limited to the state of victoria includes amendments up to 3 November 2014, (see the Table of Amendments in the 'End-notes' of the Act).

This Act prohibits the copying of films of restricted classifications (RC, X 18+, R 18+ or MA 15+) for the purpose of sale or exhibition (Part 2, Section 23(2)) and the copying of a commercial quantity of RC or X 18+ films (Part 2, Section 23A(2)). The Act prohibits the copying of publications of a restricted category with the intention of sale (Part 3, Section 31). Copying computer games of restricted classifications (RC, MA 15+, R 18+) for the purpose of sale or demonstration (Section 45(2),(3)&(4)) and copying a commercial quantity of RC computer games (Part 4, Section 45A (2),(3)&(4)) are also regulated under this Act.

An exemption may be available to an approved organization for an event, activity or function (Part 8, Sections 64 – 67).
