The European Communities Act 1972 makes provisions concerning the enlargement of the European Union to include the United Kingdom, together with (for certain purposes) the Channel Islands, the Isle of Man and Gibraltar. It is an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom providing for the transposition of European legislation into the domestic law of the United Kingdom.
This Act has been most recently amended by the Enterprise and Regulatory Reform Act 2013; however, the revised version of the Act has not yet incorporated all amendments made to it by the said Act 2013 and other amendments (see the end of the revised version of the Act for further details).
Among others, Part III ('Seeds') under Schedule ('Repeals') provides for the repeal of sections 5(3), 20 to 23A, 25(8)(b), 32 and certain wordings of section 34(2), and Schedule 5 of the Plant Varieties and Seeds Act 1964.
