Notes:
Law No. 85-660 of July 3, 1985 was meant to adapt Copyright Law to the new technological inventions (such as tape recorders, video-recorder, tapes, computers).

This law, which has six Parts, amends the Law of March 11, 1957 :
- Part II recognizes “neighboring rights” to phonogram and videogram producers and to audiovisual communications companies;
- Part III creates a remuneration for phonograms and videograms private copying ;
- Part IV regulates copyright and neighboring rights collection and distribution of royalties societies;
- Part V creates a special status for software;
- Part VI provided for new sanctions in case of infringement.

Its provisions entered into force on the 1st of January 1986 and were, for most of them, repealed by the Ordinance of July 24, 2009, (only some provisions of Title VI relating to the Penal Code remain).
