Year of Version 2012 Dates Entry into force: November 1, 1999 Adopted: October 7, 1999 Type of Text IP-related Laws Subject Matter Trade Names, IP Regulatory Body Notes The Commercial Registration Code regulates the registration procedures of commercial enterprises and commercial entrepreneurs. It contains general provisions on trade names (see Articles 3(a), 3(e), 5-aa, the entire Chapter III of Title III, 33(1)(c), 34(1)(a), 62-b, 63-b, and 64(1)(f)).

The Code was amended by Law No. 9/1999 of December 20, 1999, on the Judicial Organization; Law No. 5/2000 of April 27, 2000, on Amendments to the Commercial Registration Code; and Law No. 6/2012 of April 23, 2012, on Amendments to the Commercial Registration Code. The Law No. 6/2012, which entered into force on July 22, 2012, includes a relevant number of amendments that contribute to the modernization of the commercial register in Macau.
