The present text is the amending version of the Order on Savoy cheese (Tomme de Savoie) of July 27, 1978 (Label No. 02-76), which was notified to WTO in notification IP/N/1/FRA/1 dated July 12, 1996.

The WTO Notification stated:
"The number published by Order in the Official Journal of the Republic creates an entitlement to protection; it identifies a specification for the production methods and the geographical area of production. This specification remains the property of a group of producers and may be consulted in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food."
