Notes:	The Copyright Act 2000 No. 28 of 2000 repealed the Copyright Ordinance of 1962 and was last amended on May 18, 2005. According to this Act, copyright registration is voluntary and not obligatory in Bangladesh. The registration establishes evidence of ownership in case of copyright disputes. This law is consistent with the Berne Convention and TRIPS Agreement. It contains different provisions relating to computer programs and digital media copyrights, database, rental rights, cinema, broadcasting rights, performer’s rights, phonograms rights, etc.
