Déclarations, Réserves etc.Paris Act (1971): A notification was deposited by the Government of the Eastern Republic of Uruguay in which that Government indicated its desire to avail itself of the provisions of Article 38(1) of the Paris Act of the Berne Convention. This notification entered into force on the date of its receipt, that is, on November 19, 1973. Pursuant to the provisions of the said Article, the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, which was a member of the Berne Union, could, until the expiration of five years from the date of entry into force of the Convention Establishing the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), that is to say until April 26, 1975, exercise the rights provided under Articles 22 to 26 of the Stockholm Act of the Berne Convention, as if it were bound by those Articles.
