Accession by the German Democratic Republic to the Hague Act (1960) and the Complementary Act of Stockholm (1967) was accompanied by the following declaration: "Regarding the Provisions of Article 27 of the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Deposit of Industrial Designs of November 6, 1925, as revised at The Hague on November 28, 1960, and supplemented at Stockholm on July 14, 1967, as far as the application of the Agreement to colonial regions and other dependent territories is concerned, the German Democratic Republic is guided by the provisions of the United Nations Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples (Resolution No. 1514 (XV) of December 14, 1960) proclaiming the necessity of bringing to a speedy and unconditional end colonialism in all its forms and manifestations."

Germany has notified acceptance for the termination of the London Act (1934), on August 16, 2010. The termination of the London Act will become effective three months after the Director General of WIPO receives the last required notification of acceptance.

Ratification of the Complementary Act of Stockholm (1967) also applied to Land Berlin with effect from the date on which it entered into force for the Federal Republic of Germany.

Ratification of the Additional Act of Monaco (1961) also applied to Land Berlin.

Ratification of the Hague Act (1960) also applied to Berlin (West) with effect from the date on which it entered into force for the Federal Republic of Germany.

London Act (1934): Signature by the German Reich.
The application of this Act to the German Democratic Republic was made in a declaration dated January 16, 1956. The validity of this declaration was contested by a certain number of Member States.
Entry into force date applies to the Federal Republic of Germany and German Democratic Republic.
German Democratic Republic - Date of ceasing to be a party: October 3, 1990.
