In accordance with article 16, paragraph 1(a)(ii) of the Convention, Costa Rica will not apply the provisions of Article 12 to free, traditional, non interactive over-the-air broadcasting, or to non-commercial public broadcasts and communications, as provided for by Costa Rican legislation. This declaration became effective on February 13, 2010.
