Declaration by the People's Republic of China

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to refer to the deposit by the Government of the People's Republic of China, on March 9, 2007, of its instrument of accession to the WIPO Copyright Treaty, adopted at Geneva on December 20, 1996 (See WCT Notification No. 66).

In this respect, the Director General has the honor to notify the deposit, on August 6, 2013, by the Government of the People's Republic of China of the following declaration:

    – "in accordance with the Basic Law of the Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, the Government of the People's Republic of China decides that the Treaty shall apply to the Macao Special Administrative Region".

The said declaration shall enter into force, with respect to Macao, China, on November 6, 2013.
