Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks

Withdrawal of Declaration by the Kingdom of Bahrain

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments and has the honor to refer to the deposit by the Kingdom of Bahrain, on February 7, 2008, of a declaration according to Article 5(2)(d) of the Protocol Relating to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks, adopted at Madrid on June 27, 1989 ("Madrid Protocol (1989)"). (See Madrid (Marks) Notification No. 177, dated February 7, 2008).

In this respect, the Director General of WIPO has the honor to notify that the Kingdom of Bahrain has deposited, on April 10, 2008, a declaration according to which the Kingdom of Bahrain withdraws, before its entry into force, its declaration made under Article 5(2)(c) but maintains the one made under Article 5(2)(b).

The date of entry into force for the declaration under Article 5(2)(b), with respect to the Kingdom of Bahrain, remains that of May 7, 2008.
