Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works
Declaration by the Syrian Arab Republic Relating to Articles II and III of the Appendix to the Paris Act (1971)
The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to refer to the deposit by the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic, on March 11, 2004, of its instrument of accession to the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works of September 9, 1886, as revised at Paris on July 24, 1971 ("Paris Act (1971)").
The Director General of WIPO has the honor to notify that the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic deposited, on November 3, 2004, a declaration according to which the Syrian Arab Republic avails itself of the faculties provided for in Articles II and III of the Appendix to the said Convention. The said declaration, with respect to the Syrian Arab Republic, is effective until October 10, 2014.
