Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works

Accession by the Kingdom of Bhutan

The Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) presents his compliments to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and has the honor to notify him of the deposit by the Government of the Kingdom of Bhutan, on August 25, 2004, of its instrument of accession to the Berne Convention for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works of September 9, 1886, as revised at Paris on July 24, 1971, and amended on September 28, 1979 (Berne Convention).

The Berne Convention will enter into force, with respect to the Kingdom of Bhutan, on November 25, 2004. On that date, the Kingdom of Bhutan will also become a member of the International Union for the Protection of Literary and Artistic Works ("Berne Union"), founded by the Berne Convention.
