It is proposed that WIPO responds positively to this request and hosts the ILA Committee meeting as well as an open WIPO-ILA Seminar on IP and Private International Law. Given that the topic of IP enforcement in cases of cross-border infringements is frequently brought up in capacity-building activities in the area of building respect for IP, the holding of the ILA Committee meeting and the WIPO-ILA Seminar would help the Building Respect for IP Division in providing informed assistance to WIPO Member States. In addition, the proposed activities would contribute towards an effective cooperation with other international organizations in the field of building respect for IP and sustain WIPO’s leadership role in this area. |
