Description: |
Bhutan, Botswana, Cambodia and Nigeria requested WIPO’s legislative assistance re. obligations in Part III of TRIPS. WIPO comments, aimed at implementing minimum standards and flexibilities contained in TRIPS were substantive and complex. These countries requested roundtable discussions to provide further guidance in order to finalize their legislation.
It is suggested that two representatives (1 from the IP Office and 1 a senior legal drafter) from the abovementioned countries be invited to Geneva. The objectives of the visit would be:
• to provide a general overview on TRIPS obligations and flexibilities in and the conventions administered by WIPO;
• to provide specific roundtable discussions on the written comments provided to these countries. |
