1. By letter of October 22, 2013, Mr. Simonov, Director General of the IP Office of the Russian Federation (Rospatent) has invited a WIPO delegation to undertake a mission to Moscow in order to hold preliminary consultations in view of the possible holding of a diplomatic conference for the conclusion of a Design Law Treaty, which the Russian Federation has offered to host.
2. In order to enable the Government of the Russian Federation to make all necessary budgetary preparations for such an event, it is proposed that a WIPO delegation undertakes this mission from December 16 to 18, 2013. It is understood that this mission is of a purely consultative nature and, should the WO/GA not be in a position to decide on the convening of a diplomatic conference in 2014, no further action would be taken in this regard. |
