WIPO Sub-regional Workshop on the Utilization of Patent Examination Results of other Intellectual Property Offices |
| Description: |
The objectives of the Workshop will be to:
(i) Strengthen patent examination capacities in particular small IP authorities with few substantive examiners;
(ii) Improve the efficiency of patent prosecution by utilizing external examination results for patent family members, such as search and examination reports or claims of granted patents;
(iii) Develop the skills of patent examiners in retrieving external results from various resources such as the Advanced Industrial Property Network (AIPN) of the Japan Patent Office (JPO); Espacenet and Common Citation Document (CCD) of the European Patent Office (EPO), PAIR of USPTO, Patentscope and the International Cooperation on Examination (ICE) by WIPO; and in exploiting these results in the national legislative context;
(iv) Share best practices and experiences of participating IPOs in meeting the challenges of efficient examination and build confidence in the utilization of external results. |
