The objective of the seminar is to provide a general background for diplomats permitting them to be more prepared to WIPO meetings dealing with GIs issues. To this end, the seminar is expected to: (i) provide basic knowledge on GIs, Appellations of Origins (AO) and the Lisbon Registry; (ii) provide an introduction to the economics of GIs (iii) present practical cases of GIs which have created value. |
