Based on the increased demands from member states for the Biennium 2012 to 2013, and in line with the comprehensive appraoch that the Development Sector has adopted with respect to country plans, the intention is to increase the activities of Ms. Richards so as to effectively support the work of the Caribbean unit, in the sub region. The terms of reference (See attached) included as part of Ms. Richard's contract, are also linked with the implementation in the region of some of the recommendations in the framework of WIPO's Development Agenda. In particular, those activities take into account priorities and special needs of the Caribbean Governments in the protection and promotion of domestic creations, innovations and inventions to support the development of national scientific and technological infrastructure. |
