The Government of Pakistan has expressed an interest in joining the PCT. This was most recently reflected in a statement by the former Prime Minister of Pakistan on the occasion of the World IP Day.
The ongoing European Union funded Trade-Related Technical Assistance (TRTA-2) Program for Pakistan envisages a visit by a team of Pakistan IP officials/stakeholders to the WIPO Headquarters to consult on matters related to Pakistan’s possible accession to the PCT
The visiting team would engage in discussions with colleagues concerned on issues of special relevance to Pakistan’s accession to the PCT, including the steps to be taken to meet the obligations under the Treaty, and the measures required to fully benefit from the PCT. |
