Title: Training Program on Classification Standards for Trademark examiners
Description: It has been foreseen under the Funds-in-Trust Work Plan 2011-2012 for Africa and Least Developed Countries to organize a Training Program on Classification Standards for Trademark Examiners. Further to consultations with the Japan Patent Office (JPO), and the Kenyan Industrial Property Institute (KIPI), it has been agreed to hold the training in Nairobi, Kenya, from July 10 to 12, 2012. The purpose of the training will be to (i) develop and strengthen the skills of examiners in order to improve the efficiency of trademark processing (ii) enhance Industrial Property Offices (IPOs) capacities to meet the increasing global demand in trademark applications and (iii) provide an opportunity for the trademark examiners from participating offices to exchange information and experiences on best practices.
