Reference is made to the letter dated February 11, 2010 of the Senior Minister of the Ministry of Commerce of Cambodia, requesting the assistance of WIPO in several areas including in the field of substantive examination and opposition procedures for trademarks. Furthermore, in our contacts with the Intellectual Property Division (IPD) of the Ministry of Commerce, it has been brought to our attention that the trademark examiners from IPD require a more hand-on and practical training on substantive examination of trademarks, and an enhancement of their knowledge of different aspects of office actions and opposition procedures relating to trademarks.
