Title: WIPO National Workshop on Building Respect for Intellectual Property (IP)
Description: In a letter to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) dated January 2013,
Mr. Bemanya Twebaze, Registrar General, Uganda Registration Services Bureau, requested assistance in organizing a Judges colloquim, in Kampala, Uganda, to which the Director General responded positively. See attached letters
Following further consultations and various exchanges of communication (e-mails, telephone conversations) between officials from the Registrar General’s Department and the Regional Bureau for Africa and the Respect for IP Division, it is proposed to organize the
WIPO National Workshop on Building Respect for Intellectual Property (IP), in cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Uganda and with the assistance of the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB), to be held in Kampala, from April 9 to 11, 2014 as follows.
Day I: WIPO Workshop on Building Respect for Intellectual Property for Law Enforcement Agencies; and
Day II and III: WIPO Workshop on Building Respect for Intellectual Property for the Judiciary
It is proposed that WIPO be represented at this Workshop by Ms. Louise van Greunen, Director, and Mr Thomas Dillon, Counsellor, Building Respect for IP Division.
