The main objectives of the Workshop are to provide a platform for senior officials from Ministries of Commerce and Trade, Industry, Science and Technology, Agriculture and small, micro and medium-sized enterprises to:
i. Access technological information and the acquisition of foreign technology using state-of-the-art searches and training on search and search methods for patent information on databases and on the Internet as well as the use of scientific journals .
ii. Build capacity to enable LDCs to effectively utilize the industrial property system to increase their trading opportunity (increasing productive capacity, diversification of product base, improved quality of products and efficient and competitive business process);
iii. Harness the private-public partnerships in LDCs for targeted initiatives in the fields of the industrial property system to generate increased economic gains. |
