WIPO has been invited to present WIPO Re:Search at the World Pharma Licensing Conference, to be held at the London Stock Exchange on February 10, 2015. The organizers are specifically requesting a presentation about WIPO Re:Search as an example of the use of licensing to achieve technology transfer.
The occasion of the Congress provides a timely opportunity to continue discussions with Sanaa Consulting, an external consultant that began to identify and profile potential supporters for WIPO Re:Search and WIPO GREEN in 2014 under a contract administered by the WIPO External Relations Division. An agreed-upon action item during our last interactions with Sanaa Consulting in December 2014 was identification and profiling of potential donors, such as major EU government agencies, and this action item should be completed in advance of the Mission. In addition (and pursuant to your approval of this Mission Request), we intend to schedule meetings with the UK Department for International Development (DFID), and, pending availability, the Wellcome Trust as well. Mr. Bombelles already had introductory meetings with DFID in 2014. |
