Title: Study Visit and WIPO-SIPO Roving Seminar on the Efficient Use of the Hague System for the International Registration of Industrial Designs
Description: The series of Roving Seminars on the Hague System that were launched in 2011, will continue to help the private sector to become aware of the existence of the Hague System and of its advantages. The last Roving Seminars that were held in 2015 in two cities (Changsha and Beijing) were very successful and, thanks to them and to the joined action of SIPO and of the Hague Registry, the discussions towards China’s accession to the Hague System are still on tracks.
These Roving Seminars do not only give the opportunity to the industry, to regional IP Offices and to local chambers of commerce to become acquainted to the Hague System but also help to promote the progress of accession by China to the Hague Agreement. In order to maximize the impact on the industry, a local speaker from a company using the Hague System will be invited. The contribution of this speaker could be highly valuable in the eyes of large companies as well as SME’s. The local speaker from Chinese enterprise which has already used the Hague System namely Ms. Shirley Chen, Director, Intellectual Property; Lenovo Group, Beijing, will make a presentation on the practical use of the Hague System. WIPO will bear the honoraria, travel costs and DSAs/TEs (in line with the WIPO current practices) for Ms. Chen if applicable.
