The organization of a sub-regional workshop for ASEAN countries on the Marrakesh Treaty and the possible production and exchange of books through the Accessible Books Consortium (ABC) to be hosted at the WIPO Singapore Office from November 1 to 3, 2017.
This activity aims at addressing the request for assistance expressed by several countries during the Regional Meeting for the Promotion of BTAP and MVT, hosted in Singapore on April 3, 2017; at promoting the Marrakesh Treaty and the participation in the ABC Global Book Service.
Those objectives are fully in line with Program 3 expected result I.2 “Tailored and balanced IP legislative, regulatory and policy frameworks”.
Representatives from the copyright offices and associations and libraries for the blind from all the ASEAN countries would take part in the sub-regional workshop: Brunei Darussalam, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. |
