1. Following a request from the Director General of the National Copyright Office of the Dominican Republic (ONDA), Mr. Trajano Santana, ONDA, is interested in working with the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Center (the Center) to promote the voluntary use of Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) procedures to resolve copyright-related disputes in the Dominican Republic. To establish such collaboration, ONDA has requested the conclusion of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
2. ONDA and WIPO’s Copyright Development Division are organizing a National Seminar on Copyright and Related Rights in Santo Domingo, on October 30 and 31, 2017, with colleague Ms. Bolaños’ participation (see memorandum attached). On this occasion, ONDA has requested the Center to hold a training program on mediation of copyright-related disputes, on November 1, 2017 (see provisional program attached). Participants will include intellectual property in-house and external counsel, users of ONDA’s services and ONDA staff. The training program will include the signing of the MoU by Mr. Santana. |
