7th Annual Advanced International Certificate Course on IP Asset Management

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST), and the Korea Invention Promotion Association (KIPA) are jointly offering the Advanced International Certificate Course on IP Asset Management for Business Success, based on the IP PANORAMA Multimedia Toolkit in English.

This course consists of the following three steps:

  1. Online course;
  2. IP essay test; and
  3. Offline program.

The online course will be offered three times in 2016, for six weeks per session through the KIPA IP Discovery e-learning website. The course will take place entirely in English and will feature assistance from course administrators and tutors. It is based on the twelve modules of the English IP PANORAMA and follows the below schedule:

  • Session 1: April 14 to May 26, 2016 (Enrollment: March 28 to April 13, 2016)
  • Session 2: May 19 to June 30, 2016 (Enrollment: May 04 to May 18, 2016)
  • Session 3: June 23 to August 4, 2016(Enrollment: June 08 to June 22, 2016)

Students who successfully complete a session of the online course with at least 80% course attendance and a grade of 60% or above in the final exam will be eligible to take the IP essay test.

Offline training for top performers

Up to 40-50 students from developing countries, who are top performers in both the online course (step 1) and the IP essay test (step 2), will be given the opportunity to participate in the offline program. The offline element is a three-day face-to-face training session, during which they will learn about and discuss advanced topics and issues on IP asset management. The training session will take place in in Seoul, Republic of Korea, on November 8-11, 2016 and the selected students will receive a scholarship to cover travel and accommodation.
