Air Shipment (Freight) Services for WIPO Cooperation for Development Activities

The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) is an intergovernmental organization with its headquarters in Geneva. It is one of the 16 United Nations specialized agencies and is responsible for promoting the protection of intellectual property throughout the world, including the administration of the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT), and also the international registration of marks.

 WIPO is about to issue a Request for Proposals in order to select a supplier for world-wide air freight shipments (including packaging) of IT equipment, documents, publications within its Cooperation for Development activities.

 The purpose of this call for Expressions of Interest (EOI) is to identify appropriate suppliers who can potentially fulfill these requirements.  It does not constitute an invitation to tender.  Only suppliers deemed qualified by WIPO will receive the Request for Proposal.

 Any interested company wishing to participate in the prequalification procedure is invited to download the electronic version of the questionnaire in English [DOC]  [PDF] or French [DOC]  [PDF] and to return it by email duly completed before October 26, 2009 to the following email procurementAT@wipo.int or postal address:

WIPO will be the sole judge as to the pre-selection of the companies.  The selection will take into account the answers to the questionnaire according to the following criteria:

a)  world-wide shipping capability/geographical coverage (%) especially in the following regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, South America & Caribbeean regions;

b)  reference to similar contracts with other international organizations; and

c)  world-wide know-how, logistic infrastructure and partnerships (please provide relevant documentation and/or specific statements).
