Abstract:

(EN) Disclosed is an acrylic acid polymer characterized by being a star polymer having a repeating unit derived from an (&agr;-lower alkyl)acrylate represented by the formula (I) below in an arm. Also disclosed is an acrylic acid polymer characterized by containing a repeating unit derived from a poly(&agr;-lower alkyl)acrylate and a repeating unit derived from an (&agr;-lower alkyl)acrylate represented by the formula (I) below. Further disclosed is a method for producing a polymer wherein oligomers having a polymerization-active terminal and consisting of more than 1.0 and not more than 4.0 monomer units in average are formed from monomers, and a living polymerization is performed using the oligomers having a polymerization-active terminal as an initiating species. (I) (In the formula, R1 represents a hydrogen atom or a lower alkyl group, and R2 represents an organic group having a polar group.)

(JA) 式(I) (式中、Rは、水素原子又は低級アルキル基を表し、Rは、極性基を有する有機基を表す。)で表される(α-低級アルキル)アクリル酸エステルから誘導される繰り返し単位をアーム部に有するスターポリマーであることを特徴とするアクリル酸系重合体、ポリ(α-低級アルキル)アクリレートから誘導される繰り返し単位と、式(I)で表される(α-低級アルキル)アクリル酸エステルから誘導される繰り返し単位を含むことを特徴とするアクリル酸系重合体、およびモノマーから、重合活性末端を有する平均1.0量体を超えて平均4.0量体以下のオリゴマーを形成し、重合活性末端を有するオリゴマーを開始種としてリビング重合することを特徴とする重合体の製造方法。
